Comment:

When completing an on-line form, the automplete provided two e-mail options (one mine and one unkown).

After selecting my e-mail, autoselect provided two name options - mine and a second of an untrustowrthy aquaintence.

Presumably, the e-mail and name are correlated, but have never received or sent anything to the address. The actual name would have only ever been entered into the computer as a Google search.

It has been suggested that this can only have occured if the person had access-to and logged-into my computer as a user. Scarey thought as it is a desktop that sits at home, and the person whose name appeared has never been to my home as far as I know.

The computer is also hard-wired - no wireless.

Is there another plausible cause for this? Is it evidence of a security breach? What should I look for?

One option would be to turn auto complete off, or at least clear the settings by using tools>content>auto complete.
