Somehow this got on my system... Not sure exactly how, but here it is... What a pain in the #%&!!!

I use McAfee and it popped up with, if memory serves me, several "PUP" files that I had it clean one after the other... ever since then I have the ever constant reminders popping up telling me that my computer is infected by spyware and I should clean it via SpySheriff... How nice of them to offer (for a fee of course...) I did run a scan and removed other viruses, but this one seems to be stubborn…

I have also lost control of my desktop... it changed to a blue screen with the warning about spyware in the middle, then one day after restarting it changed to an all black screen, then once again it changed to an all white screen which is where we are now...

I have read several posts about deleting certain registry keys and others that have log files posted… I’m not sure where to start…

This is what I copied from my system information…

OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

Thank you in advance for any and all assistance… just let me know if there is any other info needed… and YES I am considering formatting my hard drive... not looking forward to it, but if it's necessary I will do it...

Brendan

Run a scan on ur system using Adaware... And regarding not able to change your Desktop Wallpaper, there is a Fix for that too... Download these files:

Adaware : http://tinyurl.com/69bru
Desktop Fix : http://tinyurl.com/9l7kr

Run both the Files... In the Desktop Fix, you need to run Desktop.bat file... That should Fix your Issue...

Let us know if it helped.

Nick

My PC never Crashes nor does it have Bugs - It just develops random Features at times.
