Kids were on computer now I think I am loaded with spyware. Arkanoid.exe icon is now on my desktop. I have Hijack This installed and ran it but I don't know what I need and what is bad stuff. Also ran AdAware which found several data miners. Also computer keeps locking up after a few minutes online.
Thanks!!
Nanci

You can have your HJT! log examined here

You might also give Spybot a try - there's a link at the top of the Security & Virus page.

Arkanoid is a popular game based on the original classic DOS version - it's not necessarily an indication of spyware on its own.

Here is the URL of what keeps popping up on my computer. Never had this before. Also lots of other popups. I will try Spybot and the HJT log examiner link and report back. Thanks so much!

I ran HJT and put the log on the analysis website. It told me the following three things were nasty and to get rid of them. I fixed them and afterwards I got a fatal error and when I rebooted and ran HJT again, voila, they had reappeared. Any idea of how to get rid of them?

Thanks!
Nanci

Those are entries in your c:\windows\hosts file - a bit of investigation has shown that those ones in particular can be persistant, and are associated with the Look2Me pest.

Some information and instructions here

This post at TomCoyote Forums (it's a long one) seems to suggest running Ad-aware from Safe Mode, and use its VX2 plugin.
