Subject: Any other free Anti-Virus programs?
Comment:

I have AVG, it worked for awhile as it should..Now for some reason I cannot update it..In fact I cannot even bring up the web site..May be server problem as we have recently changed..
Question is however, are there any other free Anti-Virus programs that are worth a hoot?
Thank You, and Best of Regards, Hal

There are two more free antivirus programs. They can be reviewed and downloaded from; http://www.tusafe.com/nonags/index.html
All the best!

It is sure that AVG is better than Antivir and Avast (the other two free).
Try to make it work in your computer, for others works fine.

Try AVAST anti-virus or Antivir from germany ... but AVG is the best anyway AVAST is about 10mb and Antivir is about 4mb downloads ... need to do registration on AVAST later.

I will give AVG credit..Very clean uninstall..No reg entries left behind..I wish I could have got it to update..I have NO idea (except what I stated above) why..
I down loaded the German antivir and installed it with out a hitch..Unlike AVG, they offer support..It is compatible with ME, and uses very little resources..I like it so far..
Thank You Folks, Hal

I also used to use AVG. However, when I moved to XP and downloaded the newest AVG which is supposed to support XP, AVG would not let me scan the full HD. Instead, the program would just begin to start the scan, then XP would popup an error message (don't remember what it said anymore) and shutdown. So, I switched to AntiVer. It's been on my computer for quite a while with no problems.

I never have any problems with AVG!
I run it on XP, I can update... no problems at all...
Try www.freebyte.com
They have a list of free virusscan programs.
