Specs: Windows XP, dell insperon 1535
Ok so my cousin brings me a computer that has just been hammered by viruses. I start working on the thing and it has this nasty little combo of Anti-virus plus and spy hunter on it.

After removing (I think I removed it all) it I now cannot ope internet explorer (IE7) is installed and I also cannot copy and paste or add any files (this included Ubuntu) I tried to add the Linux shell so get around some errors.

The big problem this is causing now is I accidentally erased the NTLDR file and now have to boot from a usb drive but cannot restore the file from the recycle bin or copy it back into place.

Im pulling my hair out here and would really like to get this comp off the fritz.

p.s. he doesnt have the boot or recovery disks so im S.O.L

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
