Anti-Virus won't install

I have had some trouble recently with MSN Messenger and Internet explorer. I tried to run a virus scan to see if a virus was causing the problem, but when I went to open Norton, it was nowhere to be found. I tried to reinstall Norton Systemworks 2004. Everything installed fine except the Anti-virus program. I did a pre install virus scan from the cd and that turned up nothing, but I know it didn't scan all of my files. Is a virus causing this problem or is it something else? Thanks.

The same thing happened to me a week ago. When I uninstalled and reinstalled from the CD,I got a message saying that an unauthorized program has made changes to NAV. My MSN still will not sign in.

Go to one of the online virus scans and check for virus eg: Housecalls, Panda. Find on Google. I've always heard Norton had a bad uninstaller. Get the free 30 day trial of RegCrawler and type Norton in the search box. This will bring up all the registry entries for Norton and you'll be able to get rid of them. I always use this program after every uninstall.
