The owner of PrivacyTools2004, which has been written up on the Rogue/Suspect Anti-spyware Programs list here:

http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

has posted threats on my forum that he will start distributing spyware. He makes quite a public spectacle of himself as well.

http://www.spywarewarrior.com/viewtopic.php?t=4112

Among other things he said:
"And to be honest i'm even thinking of having some programmers write me some spyware. Yep, actual spyware to infect ppls machines. Why? Cus you all suck. I'm trying to work with you but you couldnt give a sh1t. So why try and work with the anti-spyware community when there only against you? You guys are against me so much that i'm going to start distributing spyware myself, its not hard. UNDETECTABLE stuff too To be honest theres probably more money in this then the actual spyware removal."

Hi Suzi,

Pity that sender - he doesn't know what he is getting himself into! I think its now a federal crime (or about to become one) to do such thing like that. Check out this link

Long read!

But fun.

This is not his first product like this.

Seems it was first ADS Adware Remover

If you follow all the recently added links in the thread, to his posts on the sites where he has put out bids, and then to links on those pages to other bids he has put out, you find he paid a programmer $1000 for the program and data base (a ripoff of Spybot), another $200 for the shell frontend to the program, $150 for a web page design that would resemble other Spyware programs. Even put out bids and paid someone to write up five positive reviews of his product.

The best one, is his attempt to sell the ADS Adware Remover product and web site here a few months ago. Could not sort out if he sold it and started a new product, or just rebranded it.

But this guy has left tracks all over the place, including his buy/sell activity on eBay.

Even found where he tried to sell his StarWars Galazies Subscription Forum early this year!
