They all do much the same job & if you look at the monthly reports on AVs, you'll find that they alternate in their position in the rankings (but they are usually behind the paid-for verions). After that it's down to personal preference - Avast needs to be registered (for free) whereas the other 2 don't & I personally find the Avast interface a bit confusing - at least AVG has labels on the buttons!!!

Avast is much better in detection.Both have real-time protection.AntiVir is another better,free AV.Only AntiVir doesn't have a mail scanner like Avast does. hth, JB
