Spybot and Adaware will keep most of the bad stuff off your machine along of course with a decent antivirus and firewall .

Always check with rogues link in post #3.

I rather like this trojan finder/fixer (just down the page):
a² Free

You have to run it (only the pay for version has online monitoring). It was rickety at first, false positives, but the German writer is dedicated and communincates freely by email. It has settled down well.

.... Oh yes, one you've missed that is well worth having is SpywareBlaster. This uses no resources and keeps spyware/malware out (rather than finding/fixing it afterwards). I don't know all of your programs so maybe one of the ones on your list works this way too.

Note that if you have SpywareBlaster on board, when you go to SpyBot's Inoculate feature it advises you to use SpywareBlaster instead because it is better in that respect.

Everything that I have seems to catch one thing that the other one does not, only one of mine that seems to catch the same thing is Spybot and Adaware but like them both so use both of them otherwise don't think you can overdo catching spyware or viruses.
