Looks like I'm not the only one with trojan/malware troubles! After perusing the other posts I downloaded MalwareBtye from Majorgeeks, when I try to install it McAfee blocks the app and gives this message: "McAfee has automatically blocked and removed a Trojan. About this Trojan Detected: Generic.dx (Trojan), Generic.dx (Trojan) Location: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\is-ISAOC.tmp Trojans appear as legitimate programs but can damage valuable files, disrupt performance, and allow unauthorized access to your computer." Should I disable McAfee before running Malwarebyte, or did I download a bogus version?

Try it this way, go offline, disable McAfee and run Malwarebytes. Restart the computer to get McAfee running again and post the Malwarebytes log. Please download and install the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2: Download the "HijackThis" Installer from this link: Hijack This 1. Save " HJTInstall.exe" to your desktop. 2. Double click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program. 3. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis. 4. Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button. 5.Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log. 6. Click "Save log" to save the log file and then the log will open in Notepad. 7. Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log. 8. Paste the log in your next reply. 9. Do NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet! Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

OK - I've got MalwareByte running and downloaded Hijack This, will post their logs when they're finished. I've had a couple people tell me to ditch IE and McAfee and go with Firefox and Avast; are those really the best options? If so, got a reliable site I can download or purchase them from?
