A friend of mine just had Andromeda AntiVirus 2009 appear on her system.
She's not a techie, but I tried to get her to do this via the phone:
Can't stop the process via Ctrl/Alt/Del or Process Explorer.
Can't see anything in msconfig/startup that would cause it to run after reboot, but it does.
There's an Andromeda in C:\Program files, but it can't be deleted because of running processes.
Since I use WinME I'd try to delete some of the crap with a boot disk, but I do not know how to do that in XP.
Can anyone help?

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware worked like a charm.
If Andromeda AnitVirus 2009 is too bad to be true (and it is), Malwarebytes is so good its (almost) too good to be true.
I used to be a regular here but haven't been back in a long while. But I knew where to come when I needed help again.
Thanks!
