An antivirus software destroyed my computer?

Specs: Windows Vista
So today I was surfing the web today and boom! An antivirus software called av security 2012 said i was infected with like a hundred viruses such as trojan ghost, zeus trojan, spyware, and all that bad stuff. My computer was malfunctioning like crazy and every program i opened was immediately closed and infected. I decided to then turn off my computer manually from the button, not the start menu. I came back and same problem. I decided I would then try to reboot the computer and run it in safe mode but this time, my computer starts but nothing is shown on the monitor and all i hear is a very very loud fan coming from my comp. Any ideas on how to fix this? This is very frustrating and if I really have to, I have the disk to reprogram my computer but that would mean downloading everything again. Pleeeeease help me!
PS: if you're wondering how im talking to you guys, its because i was fortunate enough to have access to a laptop.
