Alureon.h removal

October 16, 2010 at 08:22:26
Specs: Windows XP
We have Microsoft Security Essentials and it picked up a win32/alureon.h that it cannot remove. I tried to use HitManPro, it removed it once but it came back.

How can I remove it completely? And should I remove HitManPro?

Thanks so much in advance.

Try this combination
1- rkill.exe
2- TDSS killer
3- Malwarebytes

Run them in that order and it should remove your problem.

Also, sounds like your trial has expired for hitman pro so uninstall using it's own uninstaller...NOT using add/remove as it will not uninstall properly there.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I ran rkill.exe and TDSSkiller and they both came out clean. When I run Malwarebytes, I got the blue screen where it says "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer..."

After I restarted, I got an error report saying:
"Error signature
BCCode: 24 BCP1:00192FE BCP2: BA4EAEB4 BCP3: BA4EABB0
BCP4: 86BC5852 OSVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 3_0 Product: 256_1"

Should I run Malwarebytes again?

Thanks again.

Tried running all three again in the same order, the blue screen came back mid way through the Malwarebytes scan...

Is there another way I can fix the rootkit problem?

Thanks again!
