I've also been experiencing this issue with win*.tmp.exe files appearing as well as some other files that lead me to believe I have a malware infection.

This is a list of some of the suspicious file s that have appeared in my anti-virus scans.

C:\Documents and Settings\EBrenes\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\EWC6035N\bgates[1].exe

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried a series of anti-virus, but none of them seem to be doing the job right. It could also be there are too many cooks in the kitchen (i have like 3 anti-virus running right now, not sure which one to use)

you should only use 1 anti-virus at a time.
Most of those problems are in your temp files that I can see.
Try:
Crap Cleaner
ATF-Cleaner
Then :
Spybot S&D
Spyware Blaster
Adaware SE

Then you should be able to get back on track.
