| What is more likely is you have a virus that has hidden your files.....often by creating another user. For example your user name is Karina....so when you look in windows explorer you can see your user name in the folder structure......a virus going around makes another user account called User.Karina (just an example) and changes the login so that account is the one that loads......and voila it appears all your stuff is gone. So before you try anything desperate....your stuff is probably still there (in most cases). Now I cannot say for sure which nasty you may have gotten and sometimes its better to let a tech do those ones. You can try running malwarebytes and removing anything it finds and a rootkit removal program and see where that puts you.
