Comment:
I'm not exactally sure what this virus, if it is considered a virus, would be classified as, but it changes all my FRONT SLASHES on my system to the "¥" symbol.
Example: Instead of the C:/WINDOWS/System32 path being viewed with slashes, it is portrayed as: C:¥WINDOWS¥System32.
I have searched forever, and being a busy person fixing this company's numerous computer problems, I would MUCH appreciate a point in the right direction for a solution to this problem.
Your "Language for non-Unicode programs" has been changed. Probably to Japanese.
EDIT: Oh, and your path will NEVER be C:/WINDOWS/System32. It may be /WINDOWS/System32, it may be C:\WINDOWS\System32, but it'll never be C:/WINDOWS/System32.
Everything is 100% up-to-date on this computer, Latest window's updates, latest virus definition updates in AVG, latest malware updates through SS&D+Ad-Aware, and I have ran Ccleaner to check for registry flaws. The computer when i got it was so slow, it took literally 15 minutes for just the programs set to startup to load, and the CPU was loaded to 100% when anything was needed to open. Now it is fine except for RAM issues (256MB on XP and a loaded HD), and this stupid "Y" problem.
I apologize for the misdirection of the slashes, but at least you understood what i was talking about :D
Thanks again guys, ill give it a go and see how things go from here, and ill keep you guys updated!
