All of a sudden, all my data is missing! I was just on Facebook and importing some music into iTunes when all of a sudden, iTunes couldn't find a music file. When I went to manually point it to the Music folder, I noticed there was nothing in it.
Then I noticed there was nothing in Pictures, or Videos, or Contacts... my Desktop had turned black and all my icons had gone. My Windows Mail has lost all its settings so it doesn't have my mail in it anymore. Even my Windows Live Messenger has lost the 'remember me' details which automatically sign me in on startup. Yet... Internet Explorer remembers my browsing history, but has nothing in my Favourites. If I try to open something like Microsoft Word, it looks like it is opening it for the first time, wants to run setup-type stuff.
I just tried to open Windows Movie Maker, and under the File menu it showed the filenames of the last few projects I worked on but if I try to open them it can't locate them and asks me to manually locate them.
I have done a virus scan and have up to date virus protection subscriptions, but it says nothing was found on the PC.
Has anyone heard of this happening before? Even in my CMD prompt it shows the directory structure but 0 bytes.
Where has everything gone? If I open My Computer, the same amount of space is on my hard drive as there was before everything disappeared.
HELP I'm desperate!!!
