Hello, I currently got the virus, when a friend sent me an IM: Hey, check out my MYSPACE picture. I clicked on it, and it installed IMAGE45.COM, in my documents. I have troubleshot this problem for hours now, and have the CPU in the car, to take to Best Buy. Before I leave, I checked the internet, and found that there is supposedly an AIMFIX......but I'm reluctant to hook it all back up, just so the computer can spit an error back at me.
I had a friend come over, who works with Windows XP, and he had no success. Is there anyway I can be helped in this matter, because I would like to save 129.99, if posssible. I'm up for anything at this point, I have nothing to lose with this computer, anymore :)
I have run Norton, and Ad Aware, and both completed there full scans, with no viruses detected. When I boot up the computer, i get a quickstart warning from Norton, saying that: Win32.spybot.worm needs to be cleaned. I then clean the risk, and supposedly it is gone. When I reboot the computer, the virus is back, so it has to be hidden somewhere.Lastly, for a few minutes, when the computer is first turned on, I have access to IE. Once I'm on IE, if I try to go to another website, it does not connect. But, My AIM STAYS logged on, and I can chat with friends, which is weird. So basically, I cannot access IE, but I'm definetly connected to the internet, since I can chat with friends.
I need help!!!
