I am having problems with my computer,
On boot i get my aim signon window as usual but directly after it a popup going to http://www.angelfire.com/al4/spin8/staff.html pops up, it then asks me to sign on because the hyperlink i had clicked(which i didnt) needs me to be on aim. It does this about every minute or two...
i am also having problems with msconfig, regedit... msconfig doesnt open, regedit opens and immediatly closes,
My Control Panel also doesnt open form the start menu, settings. i hav to go into my computer, control panel...what do you think

Hi Gary,

Well, I tried to go to the URL that your spyware is directing your browser, and Angelfire closed the site for rule violations, so I guess that tells the story. Some Script-kiddie got ahold of a hijacker to force people to his site and Anglefire found out and shut him down. This one shuts down MSCONFIG and REGEDIT so you can't go in and disable the RUN entry to stop it from booting.

Go here and download HiJack This:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Move it into a separate folder off your root drive (usually C). Do not run it directly from C, the desktop, or any temp folder.

Run it, and the scan button turns into Save Log. Save the log and post it here. Be sure to include startups with it. At this point do not fix anything; most of the entrys it makes are legitimate system files. I'll get back here ASAP.

I have the same problems, i downloaded spy bot and deleted all my spyware that i found. i still cant open up my task manager for more than a second before it closes automatically, my aim is tame for now but i believe its still in my computer. When someone comes up w/ a set of procedures to fix it please post it clearly in the meantime i'll search for other possible solutions to fix the problem

Thanks for the help went to the site downloaded the program and ran it and it deleted that YahooMsg.exe program. Right now all is well except i think it still may be there. A problem i had before i ran the virus clean was that My task manager wouldnt stay open for more than a second and I'm still having that same problem after i ran the program. Any thoughts on how to fix it and did you have this same problem as well. I'm just afraid there are more files that I need to get rid of located somewhere else.

I downloaded the AIM Fix from jayloden.com and it deleted the YahooMsg.exe file and also fixed my problem with accessing Msconfig, Task Manager and Regedit. Before that I was able to create emergency copies of these programs using a windows xp utility from www.dougknox.com . However, after doing that the control+alt+delete key combination would not bring me to Task Manager so i had to create a new shortcut key combination (control+alt+any key you want).

Hi, my name is Jay Loden, I run jayloden.com and provide removal tools for all this stuff...if you have any AIM virus there's a really good chance AIMFix will remove it.

You can download it at http://www.jayloden.com/AIMFix.exe

I keep it updated constantly, so if it doesnt work for you just contact me by AIM at HolisticDriving (links at the bottom of every page) or just try back later, and I'll probably have updated it to fix your specific problem.

If I know about it, it's removed by AIMFix. :)
