hello,
i recently ran AVG 6.0 and it found the following:
AGOBOT.17.BV in my SVCHOST.exe process
i placed it in the AVG Virus Vault, which is supposed to help it from doing anything harmful, however...
i was wondering if anyone knows a better way to get rid of this thing or has found out?

Here for Agobot:
Virus
Gaobot (= Agobot)Gaobot is a family of virus targeting the computers vulnerable in particular to fault RPC of Microsoft. If a machine connected to Internet is not up to date in its corrective measures, Gaobot infects it via port 135, 445 or 80 then scanne the network in the search of new vulnerable machines. It in addition installs a backdoor which allows the remote takeover of the contaminated computer. The application of the corrective measures is imperative before the disinfection of the computer to prevent virus from reinfecting the computer.
PREVENTION:
The users concerned must update to them antivirus. In case of doubt, the users of Windows NT, 2000, XP and 2003 must also update their system via the WindowsUpdate service (in French) in order to correct the faults of safety exploited by the virus to be carried out automatically.
DESINFECTION:
Scan your CP first at www.symantec.com for any viruses found.
