Comment: i have got some serious adware problems after what i am sure was a hack into my system. although Adaware appears to delete any reg keys, malware etc the same files just keep on coming back. i have checked for viruses with both avg and pccillin housecall and removed a couple of trojans succesfully but there must be a file somewhere that is reinstalling these ads every time i get rid of them or restart or something. i have had a look on hijackthis and removed a couple of files i know to be suspect but since im no expert with this program some help would be most appreciated. Thanks

Reply: Download, install, and update spybot S&D. Run Spybot from safemode. Rerun Adaware from safemode. You can get it on the download page at Wilders If they do not work, post your Hijack log here in this thread.

Reply: You can also download and install Zone Alarm. Set it to "always ask." Zone Alarm will tell you exactly what program is trying to connect when it asks if you want to allow it.

Reply: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html You might also consider installing SpywareBlaster. It is free, and it runs in the background and prevents spywares from entering your computer. The download site is above. Good luck! ~Tommyo

Reply: Go back and run AdAware again. Make sure it is updated. Then click on the Custom option. Then the Customize bar and enable all scan options. Then do a full Custom scan. The Smartscan option is not so smart. It assumes a full custom scan had already been done. In addition, you could have some application program or game installed that comes with Adware built into it. Each time it starts, it add the spyware back. Look through you Startup lists for applications that are loading. Check the AdAware site for a list of "free" application programs that are know to install spyware.
