I have around 300 spyware programs running on my computer. I ran adware, but it keeps locking up and won't delete the spyware. I also have a program called zpfujj running that I can't get rid of. I ran HJT, but cannot figure out what zpfujj is. Thanks for any help

Is "windows syncro ad" listed in add/remove programs? If so use your task manager to end zpfujj, and then uninstall "windows syncro ad". Have you tried running Adaware while in the dafe mode?

Recently cleaned an ME system that had 1500 Ad-aware entries - it actually stopped responding and had to be forcibly closed.

Try clearing out Temporary Internet files and anything in the temp folder first. It may be necessary to disable system restore too, and dump your restore points.

Uninstall as much as you can from Add/remove, shutdown processes with CTRL-ALT-DEL, prevent them from loading with msconfig.

Then scan with Ad-aware and/or Spybot, run HJT! etc.

If all else fails, try from Safe Mode

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

"windows synchro add" was not in the add/delete programs list. However, after running Adware in Safe Mode, disabling System Restore, and emptying all temp folders the program zpfujj and all spyware has been removed. Thank you for the help. I had Zone Alarm turned off, but will not do that again! Let this be a warning to others reading this. Zone Alarm is a good program and has already stopped 495 intrusions of which 142 were high rated intrusions...and that is only in the last 36 hours!!!

That's great, I'm glad things are back to normal.

A lot of that stuff runs from or resides in the temp folders - clearing them out first can make the scan go faster as well.

The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing..if you can fake that, you've got it made.
