Hello hopeful helper,
I share a computer at work with a person who does nothing but download and play games all day at work while i am away. I know he does this because of the nature of the pop ups i have been recently attacked with. I was told to run spy bot, which found a ton of problems which i fixed and immunized. But the problem persisted. (by mass pop ups, i mean that even after i left the computer out of internet explorer, i would routinely receive up to 50 pop ups, fun huh?) Then i was referred to the trend micro housecall, which i ran (and due to my slow computer, took about 5 hours to run) and it found 6 viruses which i cannot clean. they are in order of appearance...
ADW RULEDOR.C ADW SCANPORTAL.A (same two appear again in a different file) Troj Starpade.A and another of the troj... being as i know VERY little about viruses and the works... I have little idea what these are or what they do. I have tried to read about them by looking at past posts, but i am not sure if i can use the same methods as other people have to get rid of them. I believe that you need a "log" of lines of code or something to that effect to diagnose the problem... But i have no clue on how i get that. It would be greatly appreciated if you were able to help me, because i am close to formatting the whole darn thing and deleting all of his stupid games. ps... i referred specifically to the response to Jane30 on Dec. 3, 2003 when looking up ways to get rid of ADW ruledor.c ... I hope that helps a little
Thank you!
