I know little about computers but I'll try and explain. I kept hearing these "advertisements" airing through my speakers with no video. I also had weird messages popping up on my screen. I followed the advice of some of the other post and downloaded Ad-Aware & Spybot. Tha seemed to do the trick.
But, everytime I restart my computer, the same website keeps popping up. It is one I have never visited or heard of.

spybot is a good program but i would also download malwarebytes just to be sure. Also check your start folder under start menu - all programs - startup to see if the program is still in there. Just right click and delete. Now it might be hidden in the start up but just do that for now and report back.

Thanks for the reply. I'll look into malwarebytes.
The website...www.shop.trendmicro was not hidden anywhere under "start up". The last time I restarted my computer, it did not pop-up, so I'm pretty confused at this point.
I "unchecked" some of the programs that automatically startup to try and speed up my computer. So maybe that did it. It takes about 1-2 minutes for my IE to completely log on with a 56 K cable modem. I'll try anything to speed that thing up!
If you can think of anywhere else I can look for that shop.trendmicro...just let me know.
