i cant remember my administrative password. is there any other way to reset it without a reset disk?

I'm sure the vista tower is same as XP, you can probably open the case, remove the Watch type battery from the motherboard carefully (almost the size of a nickel) leave it out for a few minutes, pop it back in and the password should be blank.
