No go here on the update. I checked for one about an hour ago just for the hell of it and as this posting Ad-Aware does not find one.

It be a manual one and those are the kind I do not like. I will wait till I can get it the easy way and why does one ask?

Cause I am an American and we are very lazy people. Maybe I'll sue Lavasoft for not making it easy for me to download and update. Do I smell class action???

This non-techie wants to know why everyone is going elsewhere to get adaware updates instead of updating from the adaware program? Is there something I should know, but don't!

I think the manual update would be a beta type update. Which to my understanding is a testing style for the really smart tech's and us not for us not so smart computer users. But I could be really wrong about this. If I am, then I too agree, and would like to be educated about the manual updates, Thanks.

My last update through my adware program was O1R265 02.03.2004 Internal build 192

Kevin,

When I seen capt's post,
I downloaded their(lavasoft) reference file.
It was the same one I got Monday. So, I checked their support forum, and no mention of an update.
That's why I asked, how capt did it.

Might of gotten a rogue download,
if doing it manually.

As for the other part, of your post.
No comment :-)

doghead; sunrise & Tammy1949,

You can download the reference file here.
(may it be new, or old, just depends, if it's been updated)
By clicking that, it will start the download.
Choose, "Save this file to disk"
Then unzip/extract the file, and replace the old, with the new.

It's the same file you would get,
if you used the program, to update.

People have different reasons,
why they would do it that way.

Hope that was of some use/help.

Later,
CrazyOne

I would just like to add that the manual download is not a beta. All updates are thoroughly tested, "in-house", before being released.

The manual d/l is provided for those people who prefer to do things that way.

Take care
