Comment:

AdAware SE Free version (latest & up to date) has detected 2 dialers with an average TAC of 5, although I connect to the Internet via an ADSL broadband connection and these should not worry me?? they have also slowed my system.

AdAware removed the dialers however they return on reboot.

I have so far ran AdAware, Spybot S&D, AVG 7 and HJT, cleared cookies & temp int files plus have ran CCleaner in Safe Mode but AdAware still reports them located:

HKEY_USERS_DEFAULT:software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run
HKEY_USERS_DEFAULT:software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run'

I have looked in above and all that appears is the Default Value (not set) and Panicwares PopUp Stopper value, in the other Default Value (not set) and RamBooster value and these software items still function after AdAware removes said dialers.

The HJT Analyzer fails to report any Nasty's & looking myself I see nothing I can't place, is it possible they are false positives?

After having Googled the Web for a solution and finding every anti spyware product has one I'm appealing to you guys.

any help removing these dialers is greatly appreciated.

Regards

M

Hi Mark,
i had the same problem here last week. After a scan and putting it in quarantaine, i did a new scan an guess what the dialer was back. Didn't even had to reboot. Now it isn't there anymore but i don't know why, perhaps a false positive like we could see via NotNormals link. I'm on Win 98 too.

Lavasoft, I'm assuming have addressed the issue with their latest update & the dialer occurences no longer appear.

Tamtam, I'm a fisherman myself so best of luck, expect good results where the signs say 'No Fishing'.

Yes, i think Lavasoft did something about it.Yesterdays scan brought nothing up.
Going turbot, brill, tope and bassfishing with Roger Bayzand to Alderney.I Like to fish in English waters on livebait, so much different as here.
