Hello All,
I was just looking at the Quarentined items in AdAware and noticed a CLSID in there.
It is listed under:CLARIA
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
obj[1]=RegKey : Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Start Menu\Programs\GAIN
obj[2]=RegKey : Software\GatorTest
obj[3]=RegKey : SOFTWARE\Gator.com
obj[4]=RegKey : CLSID\{21FFB6C0-0DA1-11D5-A9D5-00500413153C}
obj[40]=File : c:\windows\gatorplugin.log
obj[41]=File : c:\windows\gatorpdpsetup.log
obj[42]=File : c:\windows\gatoruninstaller_cme.log
obj[43]=File : c:\windows\gatoruninstaller_cme_u.logI would like to delete these things but would like to know if it is really safe to delete a CLSID? I think I remember reading somewhere that CLSID's are best left alone - although my system seems to have been working fine with that one in particular being in quarentine.
Your help is most welcome!
Thanks,
Jodie

That's gator, which spyware, adware, scumware, whatever you want to call it. They changed the name from gator to claria because gator had so much bad publicity.
Most people who get claria, (gator), don't know how they got it. I would definitely get rid of it. If you were using gator to fill out forms or something like that, there's another program, Roboform, which is spyware-free.

Suzi,
I will delete everything in qurentine now. It has been there for a few weeks now, and I would definitely like to get rid of it.
I appreciate your input.
I knew of Gator and its sneaky ways of getting into people's OS, but I wasn't sure about Claria. Now thanks to you, I do !ob
Thanks for your help.

I you've had the item in quarantine for a few weeks without any problems, it's a safe bet that it's OK to delete that quarantine file.

Suzi,
You are a bad person for calling Gator spyware. Remember the courts said you can't call it all those nasty names. They are gonna come get you :)
KTTD
P.S. LAMO!!!!!!
GATOR IS SPYWARE, SCUMWARE, MALWARE, CRAPWARE and I could go on but I won't.

Hehe - well, if Gator wants to come after me, then so be it! Gator is crapware, xxitware, malware, scumware and SPYWARE!!!!

Help is appreciated here. I copy/pasted a Visual Basic script for removal of the Look2Me variant on a Windows98 computer. Although I ran the fix.bat file it generated, I got a share violation for the MSG116.dll in the Windows System folder. I can't find a file named such. What do I do to continue removing Look2Me, if I can?
Thanks a lot for answering this.
PS: Pardon my posting here. I'm new to the forums.
