Hi all,

I just installed the latest Ad-Aware update, and now the program automatically runs every time I start my computer. An icon appears in the bottom right-hand corner of my desktop screen. I've searched everywhere in my computer for how to turn it off from running every time I start my computer. I feel like it will slow my computer down.

How do I do this? Thanks so much.

I don't use adaware anymore, but you should be able to open the program, select options and then disable the start-up scan.
Another option would be winpatrol:
http://www.winpatrol.com/download.html
You should be able to remove it from startup there too.
If it doesn't stop it you will have to do what I mentioned first, as some programs like MSN messenger and others have to be shut off in their options

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
