Comment: I've noticed lately that the computer keeps hangin during startup at the welcome screen. I ran chkdsk and it found a problem related to adaware. Im wondering if this is an update problem or something adaware removed as part of its "negligable objects" feature. Anyone else having the same prob or similiar. Thanks in advance.

Reply: (edit)I just updated Ad-Aware and ran the program. I didn't shut down my computer yet, but I had a problem of getting this site to load. I had clicked on the link in My Favorites to go to the security site and it just hung. Then I clicked on the main page to this site which was also in my favorites and it just hung. I then clicked on google search and it worked just fine. So I decided to manually type in the computing site and still nothing. I then clicked on my home page in the menu and still hung. So I closed out the internet explorer and restarted the internet explorer and I got this site to load without any problems. I am going to shut down and restart and if I have any problems there, I will post back here. I'm not ignorant, I just need more learning!

Reply: (edit)Tammy1949, Justin, might, might of been doing some changes, and caused a hiccup. Don't know, just a supposition/hypothesis. Ah, a good old guess ;-) Later, CrazyOne

Reply: (edit)Well I've begun troubleshooting. Uninstalled adaware, msn messenger(recently updated as well 6.2) Still have the same freezing welcome screen prob though, its minimal now however. All virus scans and spyware scans showed negative. Hmmm. THis is making me think its a hardware prob.
