Subject: Ad-Aware 6/JavaByte Verify virus?

Hey guys, I just switched to a new computer and installed my favorite anti-spyware apps again. Something unexpected happened when I was installing Ad-Aware, AVG popped up and said JavaByteVerify was in one of the Ad-Aware system files.

I did a full scan of the computer and nothing came up. I also scanned just the Ad-Aware program folder just in case, and it too showed nothing. If it is a false positive, which I am assuming it is, it's the first time it's happened with Ad-Aware.

has anybody else had this happen or know about it?

I was incorrect, it happened while scanning with AD-Aware. I followed the instructions but I couldn't even search for the file. If you can't delete it after Ad-Aware stops running since it is an archive Ad-Aware deletes when its's done, and you can't find it during a scan, how do you find it and kill it?

I even tried to outsmart the thing by running AVG and Ad-Aware at the same time, and it simply isn't found. Here is where it states the problem file is C:\PROGRA~1\Lavasoft\Ad-AWA~1\Cache\BlackBox.class.

I searched for it and Windows pretty much stated it wasn't on the hard drive at all. I don't have any CD's in either. I don't even know where I picked this virus up at since I've had the computer 3 days and haven't even been anywhere yet really.

I've had this virus once before and it was a cinch to kill with AVG, now I can't even find it, much less kill it.
