I have been trying to update Ad Aware SE but I keep getting this message after about 5% of download completed.

"The download definition file could not be read, please update again"

The last definition I have is SE1R54 14.07.2005

Should I download and re-install Ad Aware SE ? Thank you

Pibou

well mine did that for about half a day one time, but the following day the problem was fixed. Ad-aware may be having server issues.

I had the same problem today, but after several tries all was ok. Servers might have been busy. Keep trying.

What version is your ad aware? If it's not the latest, update it.

Thanks guys & gals for your replies. I downlaoded Ad Aware SE again and re-installed it. Don't know if it was the re-install or if a server problem was fixed, but it is working again.

Hi,

Ad-Aware updates have been tricky for a while.

The servers seem to get very very busy with each update.

Major Geeks normally has them, so you can do a manual update. Simply replace the defs.ref file

This link may also help
