Hello all, I have been searching this forum for quite some time, but I can't find the post that somebody posted some time ago, regarding ActiveX controls. In the "security" tab of Internet Options, there are the green check-box dots that you apply to allow/disallow activeX controls. Does anyone know of the site that I'm trying to describe? It was similar to a tutorial, that recommended the proper settings for these green dot check-boxes.
Some sites I visit now, I get that box that says something to the effect "my settings prohibit........ and pages may not display properly." Can somebody advise me on the proper settings? Thanks so much! ~Tommy o

Unless you have customized settings, you might want to apply Restore Defaults to all the options within Internet Explorer. That way, you're virtually starting out with a new browser.

Thanks so much, CarbonArc re: the defaults. And thank you Laura; yes, that is what I was looking for....thank you very much! I looked everywhere for that, but couldn't find it. At present, mine are at default as I just had a re-install of XP; due to my stupidity and deleting some critical Windows files, thinking I was eliminating some spyware. Thank you Jean; I just noticed my e-mail, and I will review the info now. Have a pleasant Tuesday evening, all! ~Tommy o
