Hello All. I am trying to create a bootable Acronis True Image DVD WITH the backup files. I saw the option in Acronis to add its components to the bootable media when creating a backup but I suspect thi works only if the backup is done directly to the DVD burner.

Simply, I want an Acronis boot DVD with the backup files on it as well. I tried creating a bootable Acronis disc which I then edited in ISO Buster and simply added my backup files to it. But after I save the disc and try to boot off it, the process fails. I suspect adding files to the ISO image messed up the boot files. Funny thing is that ISO buster still indicates that the disc is bootable.

Any ideas as to how I can add backup files to Acronis boot disc would be appreciated greatly!

I use Ghost 11, I use it on my Bert Pe disk. I have cloned and back up XP and Vista Business 64 bit with out trouble. I think Ghost is up to 14 now.

Ok. I have made some progress but I've come across a new problem.

I was able to create a bootable DVD with the *.tib files by creating bootable media with Acronis and saving as an ISO. I then opened the image in UltraISO, renamed the image as Acronis, right clicked and hid the Recovery Manager folder and then I added the tib files. Finally I saved the ISO and burned it with Nero.

The DVD now boots and Acronis loads fine, however, it does not see the DVD Drive, only my hard drives. This is surprising since it could see the DVD drive enough to boot from it and load Acronis into memory but once the program starta, there is no listing of the DVD drive in the Aconis GUI.

Anyone ever come across this problem?

Tried latest version of Acronis 2009 and it looks like it works fine using the process as described above.

This looks like a problem connected with the speed pf the CPU, I have now made three cd/dvd
boot discs, ALL work on my old, slow 1.8g Packard Bell, NONE work on my new desktop which has duo 2.6g, it's not unknown for software to hiccup on faster CPUs, I've found it on PHP/Mysql working on a Linux based server, I had to put a couple of delay loops in to make things work --- just a thought!.
I had to do a full recovery recently because of this problem instead of an Acronis restore,
not a happy bunny.

When backing up to removable media, you can make this media bootable and will not need a separate rescue disk.
The Acronis One-Click Restore is a minimal addition to your rescue media, allowing one-click data recovery from an image archive stored on this media. This means that at booting from the media and clicking “restore,” all data will be restored to its original place
automatically. No options or selections such as resizing partitions will be available.
If you want more functionality during restoration, write a full standalone version of Acronis True Image Home to the rescue media. As a result, you will be able to configure the restore task using Restore Data Wizard.
By clicking the Advanced tab you can select Acronis True Image Home (full version) and Acronis True Image Home (safe version).
