Since I have installed McAfee's ViruScan 7.0, I have not been able to use my T30's "Access ThinkPad" button/functionality. When I try to open this program, nothing happens--but when I am booting down later, I see that my PC is unable to "END" the program. I get the "Run DLL As An App" error message. I also have had problems installing new software from CD-ROMs as of late. I have been unable to UNINSTALL the Virus software to determine whether this is my problem. Any insight out there?

If you cannot remove Mcafee by using add/remove programs or by the programs own uninstaller, you will have to manually remove it. If it is a recent installation, you could use system restore by selecting a restore point before you installed Mcafee and your computer was working properly.

I have the same problem regarding McAfee and my Thinkapd A31p.
The biggest virus on my system is McAfee itself! I even wasn't able to do a normal uninstall of McAfee V7.0. I had to hack the registry do put the service to manual startup, reboot and then do a uninstall.
After the initial install, I discovered that the On Access scan wasn't functioning at all. Serveral test virusses could be saved from attachements with no alert.
I did not test any connections with the IBM Access software, but did notice that after installing McAfee 7, there were lots of problems with all kinds of services. Simply trying to stop or start a service would halt the Services MMC.I ended up with uninstalling McAfee, and did the same on my Home system, where it frustrated my Eson TWAIN scanning software.
I don't think I'll ever use McAfee again.

You are somewhat correct. McAfee is the biggest virus on most computers. All summer the latest versions have been givine people fits. I have had *Major* problems on several computers (I'm a bench tech) and removing McAfee was the only cure needed.
*yuck*
