Another tech site has made mention of an "AboutBlank" removal tool, be advised it's a scam.

My Norton immediately picked it up as carrying the "Trojan.StartPage"

Not that big a deal to get rid of, the trick is that it's easy to restore your start page, but it also "less noticeably" alters your search settings.

The scammers are out there watching for things that are bugging people, such as about:blank problems.

When you search Google you will see many "wonder cures" to this problem, often couched in the way some scum car salesman would go about it.

Watch the wording or you will be whipped off to some porn website or worse.
