Many readers talked about this freeware called SWAT-IT known to be a trojan anti-virus program, which had the pretention to be able to reconize any trojan's virus without any database virus reconigtion file.
A wonderful program if we read the programer's information.
In fact this is a joke, this program when downloaded ask you in fact to download another program called Lockdown Millenium, which is not a freeware but a program shareware very expensive to buy !!!
This charming SWAT-IT is in fact a small cookie to get you to another cookie, not free at all...
This program is also very slow to perform in consideration of other program's described here as real Trojan's Blad runners....
I think about Trojan Remover....
Conclusion: don't let yourself mistaken by a present which is not one.....

Most security sites I read and monitor all mention SWAT IT by name as a good product, with a link to www.lockdowncorp.com.
Their website talks about their trojan scanning tecjnique.

It has never placed a COOKIE on my PC. On INSTALL or DOWNLOADING definitions updates, I have never gotten ANY REQUEST of any kind to buy ANYTHING. As for them TRYING to sell you another COSTLY product, nothing wrong with that, as they just provided you with a FREE, I think very useful product. Just don't BUY their other product. Pretty Easy!

Their is a database used, as the updates are timely and regular.

The scan time is about 1 hour, as it's though and if you see the scanning, it is verify EVERY file, which does take some time and can't be done in 10 minutes.

I use SwatIt

It is Freeware - it is NOT Shareware

It does NOT put any Cookies on your Computer (or anything else that I'm aware of)

There is a Link to the Site where you can get the LockDown Milennium IF YOU WANT TO

It has a Database which you can Update from time to time

It is slow in Scanning but otherwise I find nothing wrong with it

Well,
This conclusion went since I tried Swat it myself, with a comparaison with others friends using it too.
Try Trojan Remover and you will see how fast it is to scan all files on partition C.
About 15 mn !!!! Have a try...

That's why you have to pay for it to keep it.
