Download, install, update and run the following programs, you will need to google them to find them.

Spybot search and destroy
Trojan remover

This should cure your problem.

Thank you! I ran SuperAntiSpyware ... that clean up a lot and probably removed the main annoyance. I ran Malwarebytes overnight, nothing additional. I will continue with the others later today.

Just an update:

Spybot Search and Destroy (the real one) removed additional registry entries and offending files. Be careful, there are many look-a-likes that want to ADD advertising to your machine! The real one is at:

My machine runs much better now and Spybot helped a lot, but interesting, the advertising audio still came back. It seems to play every hour or so. I will look for the "real" Trojan remover to continue the search.
