A virus called w32.hllp.handy which attacks presumably exe files has taken control of my system slowing it enormously.nav has quarantined two or three huge tmp files which contain the infection but it has not been able to locate the heart of the virus.
any kind of help would be appreciated.thanks

have you tryed on line scans? try housecall-panda-norton ect a seconed opinon might nail down where it is.allso look at those sights for removel tools.

Get Spybot S&D from wilders.org. ALso get Ad-Aware. Get a trojan remover at simplysup.

I was told I have a virus and its quarantined.does that mean it can get out? also I purchased your 2002 new program the dealer guaranteed 3month of free updates true? also if I want to go for 1 yr its only 30.00 also true? the program is supposely automaticly up date everytime Ilog on to the internet is that also true?

Use norton. Boot into Safe Mode and scan. Other imatation scanners do not work well if at all

A. Don't know.
also I purchased your 2002 new program the dealer guaranteed 3month of free updates true?

A. I think you get 1 year if you buy the program but only 3 months if it came preinstalled in your PC.(Norton AV)

also if I want to go for 1 yr its only £30.00 also true?
A. I belive so.

the program is supposely automaticly up date everytime I log on to the internet is that also true?
A. If you set it up that way. I update mine manually every time I log on to the net. I don't want it to kick in when I am copying a back-up program or something.
