Comment: i am running an anti virus program and i keep getting the message "a virus has been found.The Anti-virus was unable to disinfect the file. Run the virus scan to verify that other files on your system are not infected." when i run the virus scan it is coming up clean. im getting these messages every couple of mins. C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\WIN8739.TMP.EXE is where the infected file is. and the virus name is W32/Dialer.gen!EEH. i have googled this virus and followed instructions to get rid of it but it is still there. please help

Reply: (edit)As you can see from the location of the infected file, it's in the 'temp' folder - clearing out your temporary files might be a good starting point. You may need to try that from Safe Mode, either manually or by using the excellent CCleaner application. Reply: (edit)Download and Update Ewido Anti-Malware Then; Disable system restore, then reboot into safe mode (at start up contiueally tap the F8 key) Then run run Ewido in safe mode. Then run Hijack this in safe mode and save a new log to say your desktop then reboot to normal mode and paste your log on the Analyzer Page "Turning off the the system restore deletes all restore points cause viruses,nastys like to embed themselves in there so they can re generate themselves" " Please Post back to let us know if we helped "
