A Security 12-14 icon appeared on mylaptop

Specs: Windows Vista, Pentium 4CPU, 2.00RAM
I get a popup saying ! warning 33 infections
Then I get another popup asking to "remove them now" or "continue unprotected'
if I click "remove them now" they want $79.95 on my Visa. It appearsto me to be a scam. Please help.

I have VIPRE anti-virus and is enabled for active protection and email protection and current on all updates
I am sending this on my desktop PC

download malwarebytes and run a scan it should detect the scareware and also run a scan with your antivirus too

As mastrr says, Malwarebytes is a good place to start, it will also install/run in safe mode, if the malware is stopping you from accessing the internet in normal mode.
