A file nobody knows about? swgtook.exe?

February 25, 2011 at 11:40:47
Specs: Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3, Core 2 quad Q2300, 2gb corsair 800mHz
Repaired Windows XP pro after a vicious, multiple virus attack... After boot sector repair, avira rescue system, and a windows repair, I finally saw my way to my desktop.... Until an error popped up: svgtook.exe, that "press ok to terminate program" dialog.. Searched for the file and found the svgtook.exe in c:\windows\system32\driver. The icon looks like a tv screen with no signal, except its white and blue and not black and white. The file contains something that has to do with a VeriSign certificate which "cannot be verified". Did a google search with NO RESULTS. Any ideas?

Found it!

Was a TR/Kazy.13637 Trojan as reported by Avira.

Scanned my PC with the Avira Rescue system, used my Win 7 hdd to remove the remaining viruses from the other hard drive.

The virus also amuses itself within your registry, so you might want to clean up :)

I had these Files In my PC for about a 9 days.

I knew there was something suspicious about it.

I googled about 8 days ago... But there was not refrence to such file...
Today when i Re-Searched This file i found This Page...

Ran a scan with Avira But Nothing Was Found!...

Here is what i did Next!!!

1: Did a system search From MY COMPUTER> File Name : svgtook
2: Located 2 files
3: One of the file was In C:\Windows\prefetch\SVGTOOK-(MISSING LETTERS)
Second was C:\Windows\system32\drivers\svgtook.exe
4: Opened Avira Control Panel> Administration>Add Suspicious File to quarantine.
5: Added Both these files... And What do you know...Prefetch File is a virus...And the second file was unknown.
6: After adding both to quarantine, I deleted them from the quarantine...
7: Use the system search again to find the same files, Nothing Showed Up.!

I hope the problem is Solved...

Someone Should Report this File or Its Name and Identity.
