My PC has gone from downloading files at 750+kbps down to a laughable 16kbps in less than a week. No malware according to AVG PRO and Spybot S&D and I also use Spywareblaster. I download manga from www.narutomania.com and the files are 170mb approximately (virus free) and generally take no more that 3-4 mins to download but now the download speed has plummeted for no apparent reason and I don’t know what to do.

If you are running thru a router , the first thing to do is reboot everything one at a time and see what happens.

How long has this been going on? Could just be a server glitch or overload.

A lot of people are having internet problems all over at the moment. My MSN and Internet drops off every 4-5 hours sometimes for the whole day. Come Friday, it will have been going on for a week.

Could be DDoS attacks, server trouble, or whatever.

And you should be thankful, I have to put up with 5KB/sec or less EVERY DAY :P

There is one subtle yet vital difference between opinion and fact; and the bigger man is he who can whole-heartedly admit this.

Some ISP's that offer unlimeted downloads also have a fair usage policy, so if you download to much in peak hours and in there opinion you are effecting other peoples use of the service, they moderate as they call it your download speed.

You can call your ISP as much as you like but but I bet they still wont tell you if they are doing it to you or not.

If any advice helps, please post back as it might help others.
