Unfortunatly it looks like you, of many hundreds of thousands, have been infected with the late blaster, LoveSAN, blaster.worm, virus.

Symptoms: Recieve a msg stating that in 60 seconds you will be shutdown. Continual Shutdown. Unable to stay logged on the internet.

How did you get it?: Just being logged on the internet! Not having the latest patches for your operating system. You can thank microsoft once again.

Fix: Download the latest patch from microsoft.com.

Quick Note: I work at Best Buy and we had about 50 computers come in today with the same problem. Unfortunaly it affects all computers with the latest patch. I believe July16 and prior. There is a new patch available for download.

Tech Specs: It travels through TCP port 135 i believe.

also download and run the ms blaster removal tool from symantec which will remove the worm....If you cant run task manager, regedit, etc,,,click start> run> in the run box type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes also note space between sfc and /
hit enter and have xp cd handy...once your worm is gone and system fixed I would suggest turning on firewall if you havnt already...then get patch from microsoft. Xp's firewall will effectively block incomming to port 135 which is where the worm comes in.
Good luck
