Reply: (edit)Enter My Doom in the search box above. You should find some recommended methods to get rid of it. If not, do a Google search. There are removal tools there. I can't make a recommendation on what to use.

Reply: (edit)Were you just setting up your account with your ISP? It could be that your isp is blocking any emails with "test" as the subject matter...which is the default subject when testing your newly created account. But I think the Mydoom worm uses "test" along with others in the subject line; so they are likely blocking them all. Try changing the subject in the test email..or call your isp to see if thats what they are doing. I will send email to you so you can see if acct works. (comp.net in subject line) Also not good to display email address in the open...there are bots that crawl the forums looking for email addresses to spam. _________________________________ I never give up! Reply: (edit)Giorgio It looks like from the first msg you wrote that you may have set up the account not quite right... When I click your name I see first name.lastname@royalfree.nhs.uk but in first msg is first@last.co.uk and looks like the old isp server is still set as default. I am assuming you use pop3/smtp for your outlook express. (could be pop 8,or some other number) Check settings again. I would think it should be: pop3 mail.royalfree.nhs.uk smtp mail.royalfree.nhs.uk If you had an old account with calinet.co.uk you would need to set royalfree as the default account. If you don't use calinet any more..just delete the account..royalfree will then automatically become default. You would need to check with your ISP to be sure. That is how my outlook is set up on 2 computers, same on 3rd computer with outlook express. (I use different isp tho) Royalfree is your ISP? ____________________________________ I never give up! Reply: (edit)Hi Blender, This is very strange this email "name.lastname@royalfree.nhs.uk" it's my work email but I do not have any accounts on my pc set for this email... so not sure why when you click you can see my work email. My default account is name@surname.co.uk and this account it's with calinet. Another problem that maybe it's related with this it's that I can not access hotmail at all.. even using the web... but I do not have any problem if I try from another pc. Do you have any idea of what could be the problem??? I am quite sure that the accounts are fine because nothing changed and I used this account for more than 4 years. Thank you Giorgio Giorgio Capisani

Reply: (edit)Giorgio Sorry for not getting back sooner...busy. I can't remember exactly where I saw it posted before but I seem to remember a pile of people having problems with OE and accessing any secure sites (such as hotmail) after an update to IE6 but it was just within the last few months. I believe M$ has since released a patch to fix their patch. (I can't remember the KB #) Did you just do an update about the time you started having problems, and do you have problems accessing other https sites? I would check windows update; there should be a patch. _________________________________ I never give up!Windows Update
