Comment:

I had this trojan (404dns), but found a thread with someone who had the same problem. I think I fixed it following his instructions. The reason I am posting is because I want to be sure I got rid of the trojan and all other bad things on my comp. Can you guys tell me if there is anything bad still on my computer if I post a hijack this report and a SmitFraudFix report?

Looks like nothing much has changed.

Run hijack this> click "open the misc. tools section">check both of the boxes to the left of "generate startuplist log" then click the "generate startuplist log" button> yes> then post the results of that scan please.

That can't be a good thing. Well there were two thing's I was unable to do. I could not disable the Norton Script blocking. The directions you gave me were incorrect. I looked all over Norton and could not find Script blocking. I have Norton Internet Security 2006. Also the file C:\DOCUME~1\RYANDY~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\realscannerm.exe "does not exsist" so it obviously did not get deleted.

O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\program files\newdotnet\newdotnet7_22.dll' missing

did not get fixed. Hijackthis told me to go to http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm to fix "O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\program files\newdotnet\newdotnet7_22.dll' missing"
and told me to go to http://www.spybot.info/. in order to fix "O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://bar.mywebsearch.com/menusearch.html?p=ZSzeb029". I was able to download the LSPfix and ran it, but was unable to download and run the spybot program.

Yes, it's running much better now. The only thing that bothers me is it starts up really slow now. I think it started up faster when I had the trojan. Do you think I should delete the programs you had my download or keep them around just incase I get another trojan or virus? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME!!

I have a few other questions to ask you, but I will let you answer the ones I just asked first.

Ok thank you so much for helping, again!

As for my other questions...
Do you fix computers for a living? Or what exactly do you do? I am starting my second year in college and I think I want to work on computers for a living. I just need a little direction.

Go ahead and delete them. You will have to go to add/remove programs to uninstall Ewido, be sure to restart the computer afterwards.

You should also run the error checker and defragmenter .
