Comment: Good day, I have tried to deal with this mess my self without success. I have used hijack/avg and recently superantispyware. I have the following trojans at this moment Sheur generic7.rvo and a "host" logged in windows system 32 drivers All found by avg virus scan superantispyware is running and has also found trojans. Last night I had the spyware spider pop-up but have been able to get rid of that for now. It said it removed the trojans but they have reappeared! Please help!!!

Reply: If they are reappearing, it's either through the registry or through a back door in your system. Disconnect the cat5 cable when you do your scans but update AVG and superantispyware first. Scan with one at a time. You can also post your Hijack This log here. Also, look in the registry. Follow the same path in HKCU and HKLM Software Microsoft Windows Current Version Run Look at both run folders carefully. Trojans hide there many times.

Reply: Guapo, thank-you so much for your reply and comments. Find my log, let me know what seems out of order. I have run both scans in safe mode without internet connection and it did indeed find more trojans since my last scan. I suspect if I ran again it would find also. I will sniff thru the registry as you recommend and will advise. Thanks and looking forward to your reply. Reply: It looks pretty good but there are 2 options left to consider. The first one is the no file listed under the Yahoo toolbar. Personally, I'm not a fan of Yahoo Toolbar or Toolbars in general. If you can live without Yahoo Toolbar, uninstall it completely. If not, just delete the entry below. R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file) The .dll below is listed in connection with a Client for Netware. If you're connecting to a Netware server, leave it alone. O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\nwprovau.dll

Reply: Guapo, thanks for all your help. The desktop is working well now and I will follow thru and remove the toolbars etc. I want to ask for your help to spruce up the laptops in the house. My IBM T43 has never lived up to the hype about thinkpads, I have been very disappointed with this machine UNLESS it is full of viruses? Are you will to look at a hijack log for this machine? Please advise. Good night

Reply: I don't think you have to be concerned about that file. Supposedly, it's for Netware clients. That's why I asked you if you connect to any Netware servers. I'll look at another log for you but let me explain what I do. If there is an .exe or .dll or anything that is not familiar to me, I search it on www.processlibrary.com If they can't tell me what it's for, I search it in Google. Many times in the search results, a site called castlecops.com has the answer, so I look for that. Between those two sites, one can decide if the process to be deleted or not. There are cases where more searching is necessary but not too many.

Reply: it looks like you are getting viruses and malware from your ip address. i had a client of mine with the same issue of yours. he got tons of virus. he ran antiviruses which removed them all and he got them back after few hours. try installing zonealarm free, which blocks incoming souspicious traffic, and after that run your antivirus. if you have any emule, yahoo chat etc. download the latest version or delete them (above all emule) webmaster of http://www.webtlk.com WebMaster of www.webtlk.com
