windows batch + full paths

Specs: Windows XP
Hi all,
I'm trying to parse to my batch a full path with double quotes like
"c:\documents and settings" in a FOR function in a backup script
over the smb net so full paths are very important to tell it excactly where files are.
Now I read that maybe it is possible with the "for /F "usebackq"" option but
I really don't know how to use it, any example is really appreciated :)

Not a great example, but... Echoes the first word of every line in "ascii2all.bat", found on my desktop:

FOR /f "usebackq" %A IN ("%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\ascii2all.bat") DO @ECHO %A

When your only tool is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.
