Subject: what's the best server side language?
Comment:

Hi,

I have recently began experimenting with some server side programming languages such as ASP, PHP, and JSP. I would like to know which is the best. So far I like ASP the best however Windows servers generally cost more for hosting.

My only experience is with ASP and I really like it.

Here is an article that might be helpful:

If you find some compelling reason to use something other than ASP, I would be happy to be informed.

Dude,

PHP is for sure the coolest.

(in my opinion :) )

I use it for everything web.

I use it to interface with mySql and it is way easy to do. It also has some neat image functions and stuff.

Agreed. I love PHP. I have not used much ASP, JSP, or VBS though. I use PHP for everything web and beyond. You can use it for offline things too. I have never liked languages MS supporst like ASP, JSP, VBS. They seem like boring. Another reason I like PHP is because it is a lot like C and I already knew some C. It is much much much easier than C though.

First of all, JSP is not related to Microsoft (remark for Lithos).
