What feature needs to be on to run a VB file?

June 16, 2012 at 02:15:36
Specs: Windows 7
When I try to run an *.exe I get this message: You must use "turn windows features on or off" in the control panel to open and execute this VB file.

What do I do?

I could not reproduce your problem on my windows 7 machine. I put vb (version 4),
the requisite dll vb40032.dll, and a simple vb program (executable) onto the system
(just used plain-ol' copy) and the program ran fine. If you're running a later version of vb, esp. a .net, then that's probably why i couldn't duplicate the error. I mostly use the older version since it does most of what I want, although I do have a vb6.

oops, my apologies! I shouldn't have posted this! realized too late that it would bump your post out of the "unanswered" arena. You might want to re-post and this time i'll keep my stupid mouth shut.
